EBSL is a league started over 30 years ago to help develop the love of swimming in the East Bay. The purpose of the East Bay Swim League, (hereafter EBSL), is to provide young
swimmers with an opportunity for summer recreational swimming competition, in an
atmosphere that fosters sportsmanship, team spirit, cooperation, and respect for the
other swimmers and the league. It was started in the Hayward area, but has spread to Southern Fremont, Newark, San Leandro, and Castro Valley.
Newark Bluefins was the eleventh team added to the league in the Spring of 1997. Each year EBSL hosts it's championship meet where all twelve teams in the league compete to determine the overall league champion. For more information please visit their website: http://www.ebsl.org

EVERY POINT COUNTS!That was our battle cry this week when we started to prepare for our swim meet versus the Seals Swim Club. I knew it would be a close meet, but who would of known that it would come down to 14 points. This meet was a nail biter that went down to the final two relays. I'm proud of each and every one of our swimmers. You were all part of the Bluefin body that helped to come up with a win. We need to use this weekend to help us to focus on the big picture ahead; league meet is coming and we must ready ourselves to fight there. As our Big Tuna shirts say, "The journey of a thousand strokes begins with a single stroke." The path to being great starts with each swimmer taking the steps today to be better. | |
